barrels of sea was created to document Karen’s Kathleen Neely Macomber Travel Prize journey and piece together information. The information presented on barrels of sea is based on Karen’s understanding of the material, interviews, etc. Research from the trip is used as inspiration for artwork and awareness. The photographs and video clips on this website were all taken by either Karen or Eric with the exception of “The Front Fell Off,” which was “given” to Karen via her thumb drive by Burrard Clean Operations. As the purpose of this site is to share information, the images and videos are public; however, please give credit if they are used elsewhere.
